Taste

Bollywood

Named after and inspired by the filmmaking center of India, Bollywood Bar & Grille is one of the newest additions to Harrisburg’s Restaurant Row on 2nd Street.

Opened in late August and located in the space once occupied by Zia’s at Red Door, Bollywood Bar & Grille has garnered high praise and a growing following of Indian-cuisine aficionados and nightlife seekers. By offering deliciously noteworthy Northern Indian cuisine, an impressive all-you-can-eat lunch buffet, a full bar and monthly Bollywood-themed nightclub events, this once-vacant downtown spot shines and bustles anew.
“You will be wowed by the atmosphere,” says Dinesh Purohit, owner and manager.  “We try to offer an upscale feeling, yet anyone can come in and feel comfortable.  At the same time, our food is traditional – a modern, contemporary atmosphere with traditional cuisine.”
Along with the eye-catching Bollywood theme (film posters decorating the walls and movie trivia inside the menus) and an offer to subtract the cost of parking in Harrisburg from guests’ bills, Bollywood Bar & Grille promises to be a must-frequent mainstay of the capital city’s culinary scene.
“It’s not your average Indian restaurant,” says Purohit.  “You have to come down and check it out for yourself.”
