Student Celtic Band Performing at Appalachian Brewing Company

The student Celtic band from The Perfect 5th Musical Arts Center (6240 Carlisle Pike in Mechanicsburg) will be performing tomorrow, Friday March 21st, at the Appalachian Brewing Company in Harrisburg.  Doors open for the Abbey Bar at 7:00pm and The Perfect 5th Celtic Band plays at 8:00pm.  The Kilmaine Saints are the headliners and play at 9:30pm.

The Perfect 5th Celtic Band is made up of students from the music school.  They play traditional Irish and Scottish music.  Instrumentation includes acoustic guitar, mandolin, violin, bass, flute, bodhran and accordion, as well as vocals.  The group is under the direction of Justin Clauser who teaches guitar and music theory at The Perfect 5th, and he also runs the jazz jam sessions that accompany the facility's open houses.  Most of the band members are between the ages of 15 & 20, so they will have to be out of the bar by 9pm and will unfortunately miss the headliner.

The Kilmaine Saints have been the area's premier Celtic rock band since their formation in 2009.  Earlier this week, the group played their annual Stout NYC gig following the St. Patrick's Day Parade in Manhattan. This Saturday they will be at the Shamrock Fest in Washington, DC along with some of the genre's biggest names including the Dropkick Murphys and Black 47.  Friday's show is their only local performance during the week of St. Patrick's Day, so it is sure to be a big show.
