The Art Association of Harrisburg's 2015 Bal Masque
The Beatles took the country by storm as they started the British Invasion, Peace and Love signs dotted the landscape, and love beads, headbands and tie-dye dominated the fashion scene. If you don't remember the '60s, that's ok, you can experience the decade at The Art Association of Harrisburg's 2015 Bal Masque, scheduled for February 14 from 6-11 p.m. at a brand new venue, the Radisson Hotel in Camp Hill. Serving as Honorary Chairs are Robert and Amy Hall of The Hall Foundation, which was the 2014 recipient of the Harrisburg Distinguished Service to the Arts Award.
Presented by The Higher Information Group, LoveFest: A Happening will be a fun-filled evening guaranteed to please people of all ages. Attendees can dress in costume, casual, or party attire-anything goes-it’s the freewheelin' '60s! Those in costume will be able to compete for a variety of prizes awarded by Bal judges.
In addition to a move to the Radisson, there will be an expanded menu, a signature drink upon arrival, a spectacular silent auction, a raffle of a signed Peter Max print and a stroll down Haight Asbury Street with mimes, street artists and dancing an array of tunes spun by popular deejays Chuck Schulz and Jonathan Frazier.
Cost is $100 per person. All proceeds benefit the Art Association’s programs and services. Event chairs Kate Earley and Karen Shughart encourage you to mark your calendar now for this exciting event. Registration is available on-line at artassocofhbg.com or via printed invitations. Be there, or be square... LoveFest will be a Happening! For more information, call (717) 236-1432.
