11/06/12Steeped in Holiday Magic - Branson, Mo.It’s Veteran’s Day at the Welk Theater (welkresorts.com/branson, 417-337-SHOW) in Branson, Missouri. Onstage, Tony Orlando – older and heavier than in his television days, but as golden-voiced as ever – is crooning America to a roomful of proud soldiers. He’s already serenaded them with his classic anthem Tie a Yellow Ribbon Round the Ole Oak Tree, and now in the midst of Neil Diamond’s 1980 hit, he pauses, asking them to stand up and receive the applause of their grateful countrymen. |
