I don’t think you’re missing any “genius” to people like Rush Limbaugh or Bill O’Reilly. The only thing that people like that are good for is fanning the fire of extremist views that I find run counter to anything that makes sense to me (given my intelligence level, mind you) and just add to the amount of frustration and anger that makes politics a subject something I absolutely HATE discussing with people. Maybe part of the reason that the thinkers don’t get as many soundbites as the popular opinion makers is that they aren’t yelling and screaming and ranting so youtube can’t post their meltdowns like Bill O’Reilly seemed so easily capable of doing on his old exploitative tabloid show.
